Welcome to our chicken story!
Our flock is composed of fabulously healthy Buff Orpington hens and a rooster. The Orpington originates from Orpington, England thanks to William Cook who crossed Minorca roosters with black Plymouth Rock hens, according to the livestock conservancy organization. The breed is known for being dual purpose, hardy and friendly. The flock is free to roam as far as they are physically able to during the sunshine hours, unobstructed by any means. We often gaze upon them against a striking countryside backdrop. Upon dusk they are locked up for safety. During winter months they have a heat lamp set up in their large coop. We hope you enjoy the fruits or our pasture raised flock!
